Location: Vermont Flight Academy, 3060 Williston Rd, S. Burl. VT 05403 (Burlington International Airport).
Purpose: Allow Vermont High School Students the opportunity to explore aviation careers by meeting experts, seeing what aviation careers offer & how one might go about “getting into” those fields.
What’s involved: Vermont Pilots, Aircraft Mechanics, Aviation Specialists as well as anyone interested in employing or trainings the target audience, Vermont High School Students & related “workforce”.
Event includes: Technical Exhibits, Unique Aircraft on Display, Flight Simulators, Mini-Classes (20min), Airplane Rides, Raffle & Refreshments
What does it cost? FREE – there is no charge for this event or any of the activities.
A one day event designed to bring Vermont student & workforce population into close connection with aviation experts – Goal is to expose these individuals to exciting aviation career opportunities while providing information on what’s required to engage.
Technical Exhibits: Provided by Vermont aviation experts & businesses will highlight different aviation skills, explain what’s involved & how one might “get involved”.
Mini-Classes: 20 minute classes by local experts in VFA’s new classroom. A mix of topics-of-interest to both novices (basic aerodynamics, navigation, use of IPAD for aviation…) and licensed pilots (aerobatics, multi-engine flying, advanced vertical flight…).
Aircraft on Display: A host of interesting displays including F16 Fighting Falcon, aerobatic, homebuilt & amphibious aircraft, Jet Car…will be “weather dependent”.
Flight Simulators: VFA will operate its three different units (FMX, CR-12 & Redbird) to demonstrate how technology enhances training & give students an opportunity to “fly”.
Airplane Rides: Weather permitting, will be provided by EAA Chapter 613 for eligible Students at “no charge”. See Experimental Aircraft Association’s web page for details:
