Your instructor will cover the knowledge required to safely operate a higher performance airplane that have more power and fly faster. Upon completion of the High-Performance training, you will be ready to fly faster and more exciting airplanes.
VFA’s Piper Aztec is a capable airplane that meets the requirements of a high-performance airplane. Built to provide you with the power of two piston 250HP engines, the Aztec will give you experience not found at other flight schools.
Once your instructor is satisfied with your knowledge, decision making, and flying skills, you will be endorsed to operate a complex aircraft.
How long will I take to earn my High-Performance endorsement?
The amount of training required for the High-Performance endorsement will vary from person to person, but will generally take 3 to 5 hours.
What will my High-Performance training involve?
Your High-Performance training will involve flying with an authorized flight instructor in an airplane having more than 200 horsepower per engine. VFA’s utilizes its Piper Aztec which has twin Lycoming IO-540 – 250 HP engines and GNS 430W GPS and MX20 MFD avionics.
What can I do once I have a High-Performance endorsement?
A High-Performance endorsement allows you to fly airplanes having more than 200 horsepower per engine.
Once I get my High-Performance endorsement, what do I have to do to keep it current?
There is no expiration date on a High-Performance endorsement, nor is there any regulatory requirement to maintain currency.
