Non U.S. Citizen

 Flight Training Security Program (FTSP)

If you are not a U.S. Citizen, you must get approval through the Flight Training Security Program (FTSP) to train in the United States.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires all non US Citizens to apply for and receive authorization to begin any flight training in the US.

This program is called the Flight Training Security Program (FTSP) and includes an online application, finger print submission, and background check.

For detailed information and instructions on how to apply, please click here.

If you are ready to apply, please click here.

This process typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from start to finish assuming no issues come up during the background check.

This includes:
•Application Fee: $130
•Finger Printing: $99 in the US, $199 outside of the US

Note: None of the above fees are paid to the Vermont Flight Academy.

If you have any questions about FTSP, please call their helpdesk at (571) 227-1004.

(If you are applying for approval to start your private pilot license, the course name is initial)
